What should this small job cost?
A transparent cost-and-margin calculator for service operators.
Include the costs that get left out
Use these fictional starter numbers or enter your own. This is a planning tool, not an instruction about what the market will pay.
Total cost = (labor hours + travel hours) × planned hourly cost + vehicle + materials + overhead. Price = total cost ÷ (1 − margin percentage ÷ 100). Margin is not the same as markup. Verify taxes, actual labor burden, and any required charges separately.
After you calculate
Before quoting, verify scope, contingencies, travel, materials, and your local rules. This calculator cannot guarantee a profitable job or replace accounting advice.
