QuoteIQ vs Jobber for a solo handyman: what the plans really cost

A one-person business needs quoting, scheduling, invoicing and payment tracking without paying for team features it will not use.

· US-dollar vendor list prices · Independent desk research, not hands-on testing · No affiliate links

Short answer: For one user at the regular no-commitment monthly rate, QuoteIQ Essentials lists $29.99/month and Jobber Core lists $49/month. That is a $228.12 difference over 12 full-price months. Annual prepayment narrows the difference, and temporary promotions can change the first-year result. Compare the billing arrangement and renewal rate you would actually choose.

These regular-price figures come from vendor pricing pages rechecked October 28, 2026. Temporary introductory promotions are deliberately excluded because they expire or change. Twelve-month figures are arithmetic, not checkout quotes. Taxes, payment-processing fees, add-ons and third-party subscriptions are excluded. Jobber also offers a monthly-payment option with a one-year commitment; it is not the same as no-commitment monthly billing.

What do the entry plans cover?

QuoteIQ Essentials lists estimates, invoices, scheduling/calendar, online payments, one user and 500 monthly IQ Credits for metered AI features. QuoteIQ states that a credit or debit card is required for its 14-day trial. Some older QuoteIQ product pages disagree with its main pricing page about higher-tier prices and features, so treat the current main pricing table and checkout as controlling evidence.

Jobber Core lists online booking/scheduling, quotes, invoicing and online payments, a basic website option, reporting and an app marketplace for one user. An app marketplace listing does not establish that every integration is included in Core or free. Jobber's pricing page says its free trial does not require a credit card.

QuickBooks changes the comparison

If automatic QuickBooks Online synchronization is essential, do not compare the cheapest tiers: neither Essentials nor Core lists it. QuoteIQ's current main pricing page and integration page place QuickBooks Online on Pro or higher. Jobber's pricing page places QuickBooks Online sync on Connect or higher.

Regular list priceQuoteIQ ProJobber Connect (1 user)
No-commitment monthly$199.99/month$139/month
Annual prepaid$1,999.99/year$99/month equivalent ($1,188/year)

At the displayed regular annual rates, the QuickBooks-capable QuoteIQ tier costs $811.99 more per year than Jobber's QuickBooks-capable tier. The plans do not have identical features, and a separate QuickBooks subscription may be required. Confirm sync direction, records covered, and duplicate handling before buying.

Which would I trial first?

  • Basic quotes, schedule and invoices: test the two entry tiers using the same fictional jobs, and compare your preferred payment cadence.
  • QuickBooks Online required: compare Pro versus Connect and validate the integration with a sample workflow.
  • Two or more users: rerun the plan comparison; these prices are specifically for one user.
  • No persistent software problem: keep your free templates and calendar until the recurring administrative burden justifies a subscription.

A five-job test before paying

  1. Create five fictional customers and jobs.
  2. Produce an estimate with materials, travel and a deposit.
  3. Convert an approved estimate to an invoice and inspect payment options.
  4. Reschedule one job and inspect the mobile notification workflow.
  5. Export records and, on a qualifying plan, test accounting synchronization.

Track minutes spent, ordinary renewal costs, processing fees and any integration charges. The free time-value calculator can help you estimate whether the workflow savings justify the subscription; its output is not guaranteed income.
